Emily Barden
& Joe Nelson
Thu 20 Feb, 7:45pm
The Leconfield Hall, £15
You might know Emily Barden as a choir leader with Petworth Voices or West Sussex Sings or as one quarter of touring acapella group Oaken. If you do, you’ll know she’s a superb singer and musician.
What you might not know is that Emily is also a brilliant songwriter who is just releasing her debut album Vapour Trails which we love so much, we asked her to come to Petworth to celebrate its launch.
Emily is a magnetic performer both off and on stage, and brings a heartfelt warmth to all she does. For this concert, she has also teamed up with her musical soul mate from Manchester, Joe Nelson, whom she first met to write songs in an isolated Scottish village 60 miles from the nearest road.

A Mancunian pop prodigy
Manchester’s very own Joe Nelson isn’t just another musician - he’s a pop prodigy with a lyrical knack rivalling the likes of Elvis Costello, The Housemartins and Robbie Williams.
After a decade of hanging with industry big wigs and globetrotting with various bands, Joe now finds himself at the infancy of a solo journey, ready to show us what makes him the next big thing.
